New study shows people with chronic neck pain benefit from Alexander technique

04 Nov 2015 12:02 PM | Bridget Barr

Great news for people suffering from chronic neck pain and more evidence that Alexander technique provides lasting change.  A large, well designed study just published from the University of York found that people with chronic neck pain benefited from Alexander technique lessons and the benefits lasted well beyond the time they were having lessons.

‘The Alexander technique enabled participants to make long term changes to the way they carried out their every day activities such as working at a computer, walking, sitting or standing.  At the end of the trail, one year after the study began, they were still on average enjoying the same level of pain reduction that they did at the end of the lessons about 7 months before.’
